1. Origin of Peach Pastry:
Peach pastry originated in Jiangxi, China. It is a traditional Han ethnic snack suitable for both North and South China, famous nationwide for its dry, crispy and sweet characteristics. Its main ingredients are flour, eggs, pastry, and so on.
According to legend, during the Tang and Yuan dynasties, farmers from counties around Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, such as Leping, Guixi, and Yingtan, went to work as potters. Due to busy work at that time, a Leping farmer stirred the flour he brought from his home and directly baked it on the surface of the kiln. Due to his constant coughing, he had a habit of eating peach kernels to relieve cough, so he added peach kernel powder during baking. Other porcelain workers saw that the dry grain made by this method was convenient for daily preservation and consumption during long-distance transportation of porcelain, so they followed suit and named it "Tao(porcelain) Su". Later, it was homophonic for "Tao(peach) Su".
